Microsoft Builds AI Control Plane for Enterprises

Microsoft is positioning its intelligence layer, Microsoft IQ, as the central control plane for enterprise AI, connecting agents to organizational data, workflows and institutional knowledge without retraining. The strategy was outlined by VP Cyril Belikoff at FinOps X 2026. Governance is a core focus, with Microsoft embedding model selection, content safety and security controls directly into GitHub Copilot. Agent 365 allows organizations to register and monitor AI agents like human employees, applying identity and access controls from the start.
