IBM and OpenAI Unite for Enterprise AI Push

IBM has announced a partnership with OpenAI to bring AI models and tools to enterprise customers through IBM's global consulting business. The deal includes joint marketing, industry-specific solutions, and the training of tens of thousands of IBM consultants on OpenAI technologies. OpenAI's models, including GPT-5.6 and Codex, will be integrated into IBM's consulting platform. The agreement expands IBM's existing model-agnostic AI strategy, which already includes a partnership with Anthropic, and builds on a June cybersecurity collaboration between the two companies. For OpenAI, the deal deepens its push to win corporate customers through major systems integrators, following similar partnerships with Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services.
