Google Cloud Unveils New TPU AI Chip Lineup

Google Cloud has launched its latest generation of tensor processing units (TPUs), unveiled at the Google Cloud Next event. The new lineup includes two versions: the TPU 8t for training AI models and the TPU 8i for running AI inference services. The chips store more data on-board to deliver faster responses at lower costs, as Google competes with Nvidia in the AI chip market. The push aims to make AI deployment cheaper and less energy-intensive while handling growing transaction volumes.
