Claude Code Now Supports AWS GovCloud Regulated Workloads

Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Sonnet 5.5 are now available in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions, enabling AI-assisted development for workloads subject to regulatory requirements including ITAR. Claude Sonnet 5 holds FedRAMP Class D and DoD IL4/IL5 authorization, while Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 hold FedRAMP Class D certification on Amazon Bedrock. Developers can use Claude Code, Anthropic's agentic coding tool, directly in terminals and IDEs to write code, fix bugs, manage Git workflows, and connect to external tools via MCP, all within compliant GovCloud infrastructure.
