Axelera Launches AI Assistant for Edge Chip Developers
Dutch chipmaker Axelera AI has released Voyager Wingman, an AI assistant that lets developers build and troubleshoot edge AI applications using plain-language requests. The tool connects to Axelera's Voyager SDK and documentation, helping users assemble computer vision pipelines, optimize compiler settings and diagnose errors without manual documentation searches.
Available as a web chat and standalone app, Wingman runs on a freemium model and updates automatically with new Toolkit releases. The launch marks Axelera's expansion beyond hardware into developer tools. The company, backed by over $450 million in funding including a $250 million round in February, serves more than 500 customers across telecommunications, aerospace and enterprise.
