Anthropic, OpenAI Battle for Enterprise AI Dominance
Anthropic and OpenAI are aggressively courting enterprise customers with new tools and lower prices. Anthropic added organization-wide controls to its Claude Cowork agent, including role-based access, group spend limits, and expanded OpenTelemetry observability. OpenAI cut its Codex Pro subscription from $200 to $100 per month, undercutting rivals including Claude Code and Google Gemini Code Assist.
Analysts say the rivalry directly benefits large businesses. Enterprises gain better AI capabilities at lower costs as the two companies compete on utility, integration, and pricing rather than model performance alone.
