Alibaba Launches AI Model Rivaling OpenAI, Anthropic

Chinese tech giant Alibaba has released Qwen3.8-Max, its largest and most capable AI model to date, claiming it rivals top systems from US labs OpenAI and Anthropic, as well as domestic competitor Moonshot AI's Kimi K3. The model is now widely available to users following a preview last month, during which Alibaba claimed it was second only to Anthropic's flagship model, Fable 5.
