Punjab Signs AI-Banking Deal for Digital Economy

Bank of Punjab and the Office of AI have signed an MoU under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's Digital Punjab vision. The agreement includes establishing a Punjab AI Data Center and Financial Data Warehouse at Nawaz Sharif IT City, with a goal to make Punjab South Asia's largest AI-enabled province by 2029. The partnership aims to introduce AI-driven credit solutions for farmers, small businesses, and the housing sector. It also targets creating over 100,000 jobs, expanding financial access for underserved communities, and fostering collaboration with startups, universities, and global AI firms.
