An investment research firm partnered with Anthropic to test whether an unreleased version of Claude could develop scorpion antivenom, aiming to demonstrate AI's potential in drug development. The experiment fell short. While Claude produced some promising starting points, experts told The Verge it came nowhere near producing an actual drug. The test was conducted by Citrini Research.
