Nvidia Drops $3.5B on MediaTek AI Partnership
Nvidia has purchased $3.5 billion in MediaTek convertible bonds as part of an expanded partnership covering AI chips, personal computing, and automotive technology. The deal follows Nvidia's $2 billion investment in Marvell Technologies earlier this year.
Key collaboration areas include MediaTek offering Nvidia's NVLink Fusion networking in custom AI accelerator designs, continued joint development of RTX Spark and DGX Spark processors, and ongoing work on software-defined vehicle chips. MediaTek recently doubled its data center chip revenue forecast to $2 billion annually.
