IBM Sovereign Core Gives Enterprises Full AI Control

IBM launched Sovereign Core at Think 2026, a software-only platform designed to give enterprises complete in-boundary control over AI workloads, data infrastructure, and secrets management. Built on Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat AI, it supports hardware from Dell, AMD, and Intel, avoiding vendor lock-in. The platform targets a growing enterprise demand for digital sovereignty beyond regulatory compliance, particularly as AI agents proliferate across organizations. IBM aims to get customers into AI production within days rather than the typical 12 to 18 months, routing the platform through local managed service providers and ecosystem partners.
