AWS Deploys Engineers On-Site to Accelerate Enterprise AI

Amazon Web Services has launched a Forward Deployed Engineering department, backed by $1 billion, to embed expert teams directly within enterprise companies and accelerate agentic AI adoption. The initiative aims to compress multi-year transformation projects into manageable timelines using a 45/45/45 metric: ideate in 45 minutes, validate in 45 hours, ship in 45 days. FDE teams build and leave behind agentic tools along with a semantic layer, or internal ontology, turning company data into operational AI infrastructure. Early customers include the NFL, Cox Automotive, and the Allen Institute for AI, with the NFL already deploying fan-facing products like NFL Fantasy AI and NFL IQ through the program.
