OpenAI Launches Presence for Enterprise AI Agents

OpenAI has introduced Presence, a platform enabling enterprises to build AI agents for narrow, task-specific automation such as supplier onboarding and lead management. The tool already powers OpenAI's own call center, handling about 75% of inbound support requests and matching human response quality within weeks. Presence includes guardrail creation, a simulation tool for edge-case testing, and Codex-powered production monitoring that generates improvement suggestions. Currently in limited general availability, OpenAI provides hands-on technical support to early customers. The launch follows the recent rollout of ChatGPT Work, another enterprise-focused AI agent product.
