Couchbase AI Data Plane Tackles Enterprise Agent Memory
Couchbase has launched its AI Data Plane, a unified data infrastructure layer designed to give enterprise AI agents persistent memory, real-time context, and access to tools across cloud, edge, and lakehouse environments. The platform consolidates vector databases, caches, document stores, and operational databases into a single governed layer capable of sub-millisecond latency. The launch addresses a core problem stalling enterprise AI adoption: fragmented data architectures that prevent agents from scaling beyond isolated pilots. IDC estimates 80% of agentic AI use cases require real-time, contextual data, the opposite of how most enterprise data stacks are built.
