Barclays Expands Claude AI Across Global Operations

Barclays is deepening its partnership with Anthropic to deploy Claude across its global operations, targeting 50% of its developer population using Claude Code by end of 2026, rising to a majority by 2027. The bank's Colleague Knowledge Assistant, powered by Claude, has already reached over 16,000 employees and handled more than one million searches to support 20 million UK retail customers. In its Global Markets business, Claude processes around 120,000 emails daily, classifying and routing client inquiries. Barclays says responsible governance and human oversight remain central to the rollout.
