Apple hires team, licenses tech from podcast startup Huxe

Apple disclosed to the European Commission that it has agreed to hire staff and license intellectual property from Huxe AI, a personalized podcast startup that shut down on May 21. Huxe was founded by developers who previously worked on AI-generated podcast features in NotebookLM. Apple filed its notification on June 9, shortly after Huxe's closure. The filing does not identify which employees received offers or reveal Apple's plans for the technology. Huxe's shutdown came one day after Spotify announced its own AI-powered podcast generation features, suggesting Apple may be eyeing similar functionality for its Podcasts app.
