Apple Finds Shocking Evidence Against OpenAI Employee
Apple has filed what it calls shocking evidence in its lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging former employee Chang Liu used confidential Apple circuit schematics in his OpenAI work. Apple also claims Liu enlisted a colleague to destroy evidence after learning he was under investigation, and that OpenAI was aware of his access to Apple data.
OpenAI has defended Liu, saying he only accessed Apple files post-employment to assist former colleagues, blaming Apple for poor access management. Apple counters that Liu exploited an unknown authentication bug to maintain access. Apple is seeking a court injunction to block OpenAI from using its technology while the case proceeds.
OpenAI's "we didn't know" defense collapses the moment a laptop proves otherwise.
