1Password lets AI agents log in without seeing passwords
1Password has launched a tool called 1Password for Agents, allowing AI agents to log into user accounts without ever accessing credentials directly. When an agent attempts a login, a unique digital key verifies its identity, the user receives an alert to confirm the request, and 1Password fills in the credentials itself. The platform supports agents from Anthropic, OpenAI, Meta, xAI, and others. The launch coincides with reports that U.S. banks are detecting agentic activity in customer accounts, with bankers describing the situation as horrifying and Chase warning customers not to share login credentials with anyone.
