US Treasury Summons Bank Chiefs Over Anthropic AI Risks
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called major bank chiefs to Washington over cybersecurity concerns posed by Anthropic's Claude Mythos AI model. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell reportedly attended, alongside Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo executives. Anthropoc says Mythos has uncovered thousands of software vulnerabilities, some up to 27 years old, surpassing nearly all human hackers. The model's release has been restricted to a handful of companies including Amazon, Apple and Microsoft — marking the first time Anthropic has limited a product launch.
