Unannounced Limit Reductions Frustrate Claude Users - This week, users of Anthropic PBC's Claude AI assistant, especially those on the Max tier, experienced sudden usage limit reductions, leading to temporary service disruptions. Customers encountered error messages indicating that their Claude usage limits were reached, which were resolved after a few hours.
These issues coincided with various technical problems affecting Anthropic's infrastructure, impacting Claude Opus 4 and Claude Sonnet 4 models used in Claude Code. Customers were informed that their usage could be throttled if limits are exceeded. Anthropic updated its knowledge base to clarify usage caps and session allowances.
