Qiagen anchors drug discovery agents in curated data
Qiagen is building its drug discovery AI platform on a foundation of human-curated biomedical knowledge rather than relying solely on AI models. The company's bioinformatics arm has manually curated data for over 25 years using more than 150 MD- and PhD-level experts. Its Qiagen Discovery Platform layers Model Context Protocol access and an agentic Discovery Explorer on top of that knowledge base. A partnership with Nvidia advances graph-based AI for drug discovery. Qiagen argues that traceable, grounded outputs are essential because hallucinating agents undercut the accuracy pharma customers need to reach drug indications ahead of rivals.
