Google Antigravity speeds antimicrobial peptide discovery
Google Antigravity, an agentic science platform, is helping biologists search for new antimicrobial peptides faster by combining cross-database orchestration, structural analysis, and literature synthesis in a single session. Using ProtNLM, a deep learning model that predicts protein function from amino acid sequences, researchers scanned millions of uncharacterized UniProt entries to identify a novel antimicrobial peptide candidate with predicted activity against pathogens causing respiratory tract infections. The platform also features a shared 3D Biomolecular Structure Viewer integrated with AlphaFold. The identified lead is now undergoing wet-lab validation.
Google says the tool turns days of searching separate databases into one working session.
