Poke, a startup backed by Spark Capital and General Catalyst, has launched an AI agent accessible via iMessage, SMS, Telegram, and WhatsApp that lets users automate tasks through simple text messages. No app download or signup is required. The company is now valued at $300 million after raising a total of $25 million. Unlike technical tools such as OpenClaw, Poke targets everyday users with features like calendar management, health tracking, smart home control, and custom automations written in plain text. The assistant selects from multiple AI models depending on the task, giving it an edge over single-provider competitors like Meta AI and ChatGPT.
