DoorDash launches AI food ordering via text

DoorDash is launching a text-based AI agent that lets users place food orders through Apple Messages. Users can send prompts like "order my usual" and the agent will recall past orders, suggest local restaurants, and send photos of recommended dishes. It can also handle group orders with mixed dietary needs. DoorDash is opening a U.S. waitlist for the feature as it looks to compete with Uber Eats and Grubhub. The company also announced it will begin testing delivery drones with select restaurants in Northern California.
