Oracle moves security controls to database layer
Oracle is shifting security controls closer to the data layer as AI agents gain broader access to enterprise systems. The company's Deep Data Security enforces authorization at the row, column and cell level, limiting what agents can access even if applications are compromised or prompts are manipulated.
Oracle executive Juan Loaiza warns that AI is finding security vulnerabilities at an unprecedented scale and speed, calling it unlike anything seen before. He stresses that recovery planning is equally critical, noting breaches must be assumed inevitable, with Oracle's Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance supporting real-time transaction protection and rapid restoration.
