Oracle Moves Database Security Below AI Agents
Oracle is shifting database security controls closer to enterprise data, enforcing authorization directly inside the database rather than relying on applications. The strategy, called Secure at Source, ensures access restrictions hold regardless of whether a human, application, or AI agent initiates the request.
Oracle's tools include Data Safe for cloud-based monitoring and Database Security Central for fleet-wide visibility across cloud and on-premises environments. Officials warn that encryption alone is insufficient, and that consistent, centralized security controls are essential as AI agents create new and unpredictable data access paths.
