OpenAIs Gigawatt UAE Data Center Unveiled - OpenAI plans to establish a gigawatt-scale AI data center in the UAE, featuring about 100,000 GPUs and Nvidia's GB300 systems. As part of the OpenAI for Countries initiative, this Abu Dhabi facility will expand to 5 gigawatts, supporting global AI infrastructure. In collaboration with tech firms like Nvidia and Oracle, the center will initially have a 200-megawatt capacity, with operations starting in 2026.
OpenAI also intends to pursue similar projects in other regions. The approach begins with a promotional tour in the Asia Pacific.
