OpenAI Plans ChatGPT Sign-In for Apps - OpenAI is exploring a Sign in with ChatGPT feature for third-party apps, aiming to rival tech giants like Apple and Google. With approximately 600 million active users, this new sign-in feature, previewed in Codex CLI, may enhance its reach into sectors like online shopping and social media.
Developers are encouraged to integrate it into apps of varying sizes, from small to massive user bases. CEO Sam Altman hinted at this idea in 2023, and though the launch date remains uncertain, OpenAI is actively developing the service in 2025.
