OpenAI Partners With Yubico for ChatGPT Security Keys

OpenAI launched Advanced Account Security, an opt-in protection program for ChatGPT users, alongside a partnership with digital security firm Yubico. The collaboration introduces two co-branded hardware security keys to guard against phishing attacks, targeting high-risk users like journalists, political dissidents, and elected officials. Security keys use unique cryptographic identifiers to prevent unauthorized account access, but come with a significant caveat: if the key is lost, OpenAI cannot recover the account. The announcement follows growing concern over cybercriminals targeting chatbot users for sensitive personal and corporate information.
