OpenAI Launches Faster GPT-4.1 for ChatGPT - OpenAI has integrated its GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini models into ChatGPT, enhancing coding and instruction-following capabilities. GPT-4.1 is now available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team subscribers, boasting improved speed and efficiency over previous models. The GPT-4.1 mini version is offered both for free and to paid users.
Previously available via API, GPT-4.1 faced criticism over transparency. OpenAI is now improving public access to safety evaluations. This release aligns with the growing interest in AI coding tools, amid OpenAI's potential acquisition of the AI coding platform, Windsurf.
