OpenAI launches $100/month ChatGPT Pro plan

OpenAI has introduced a $100/month Pro plan for ChatGPT, filling the gap between its $20/month Plus plan and $200/month top tier. The new plan offers 5x more access to Codex, OpenAI's coding tool, than Plus, and is explicitly positioned to compete with Anthropic's long-standing $100/month Claude option. Both Pro tiers share the same core features, differing mainly in rate limits. The $200 plan offers 20x higher Codex limits than Plus. OpenAI is temporarily offering elevated Codex limits on the $100 plan through May 31, warning users that current generous limits may not continue.
