OpenAI Denounces Robinhoods Token Sale Initiative - OpenAI has opposed Robinhood's sale of OpenAI tokens, stressing that these tokens do not represent actual equity in the company. Robinhood launched this token sale to provide consumers indirect exposure to private companies like OpenAI and SpaceX via blockchain through a special purpose vehicle (SPV).
OpenAI clarified it is neither involved in nor endorsing this initiative. Although Robinhood claims their tokens offer indirect exposure, they are not equivalent to direct ownership. OpenAI remains wary of unauthorized efforts impacting its equity valuation, a concern shared by other startups facing similar challenges.
