Nvidia Unveils Edge AI Model, Bets Big on Japan
Nvidia has launched Cosmos 3 Edge, a 4-billion-parameter world model designed to run vision reasoning and robot control directly on edge devices. Built on the Nemotron family, it runs on Jetson modules, RTX GPUs, and DGX systems, and can be adapted to specific robots or vehicles in about a day. Over 20 Japanese companies, including FANUC, Sony, Honda, SoftBank, and Toyota-backed Preferred Networks, have joined Nvidia's Cosmos Coalition. Japan and Nvidia also announced FRONTia, a national AI infrastructure project backed by $2.4 billion in government funding, targeting over 30% of the global AI robotics market by 2040.
