Nvidia Pumps $1B Into South Korea AI Push
Nvidia will invest $1 billion in South Korean internet giant Naver to fund an AI data center currently under construction, allowing the facility to more than triple in size. The site, developed with private equity firm Brookfield, will run on Nvidia hardware. Separately, Nvidia is expanding its partnership with SK Group to build over 2 gigawatts of AI data centers in South Korea, with the first SK Telecom facility set to open next year. CEO Jensen Huang called this a golden age for Korea, citing its booming semiconductor and industrial sectors.
