Nvidia Backs Verkada to Boost Physical AI Security
Physical security firm Verkada has secured an undisclosed investment from Nvidia and signed a technical partnership with the chipmaker to accelerate AI across its 2.4 million connected devices. The deal follows Verkada's $5.8 billion valuation round in late 2025 and its crossing of $1 billion in annualized bookings.
The partnership centers on Nvidia's Cosmos foundation models and Physical AI Data Factory toolkit, applied to video search across Verkada's platform. The company reports a 68% accuracy improvement on spatial-temporal queries and is developing search agents and reasoning models for complex scenarios like factory safety incidents and retail theft detection.
