Nadella Plans to 'Exploit' Revised OpenAI Deal
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella dismissed concerns about the revised OpenAI partnership, calling it a win-win despite the company losing exclusive access to OpenAI's technology. He confirmed Microsoft retains royalty-free access to OpenAI's most advanced AI models through 2032 and no longer has to pay for them. Microsoft's AI business has surpassed a $37 billion annual revenue run rate, up 123% year-over-year. Nadella also noted OpenAI remains a major Microsoft cloud customer, has committed to $250 billion in cloud purchases, and that Microsoft holds a 27% equity stake in the company.
