Musk Testifies Against Altman: OpenAI Charity Theft Claim
Elon Musk took the stand in a landmark trial against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, accusing him of stealing a charity by converting the nonprofit AI organization into a for-profit enterprise worth hundreds of billions of dollars. Musk, who co-founded OpenAI in 2015, is seeking to remove Altman and President Greg Brockman from their roles and restore the company to its original nonprofit status.
OpenAI fired back, claiming Musk is motivated by jealousy and a desire to eliminate a competitor to his own AI firm, xAI. The trial, expected to last three weeks, will also feature testimony from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and the OpenAI co-founders.
