MSU Denver AI Chatbot Tackles Sustainability Questions

Metropolitan State University of Denver has launched 'Bili,' an AI chatbot designed to answer sustainability questions on topics like water conservation, recycling, and wildfire risk. Built by students and faculty, it draws from the Sustainability Hub database and cites its sources. Despite concerns about AI's energy and water consumption, associate professor Daniel Pittman believes Bili's environmental benefits outweigh its costs. The tool also gives computer science students real-world experience, and new wildfire risk features are planned ahead of summer.
