Moroccan founder raises $4.2M for her YC-backed startup building the next layer of AI search

July 9, 2025: Moroccan Founder Fuels AI Search Innovation - ZeroEntropy, founded by Moroccan entrepreneur Ghita Houir Alami, raised $4.2M to advance AI search with retrieval-augmented generation. The Y Combinator-backed startup, co-founded with CTO Nicolas Pipitone, provides developers an API for efficient data retrieval, challenging current AI search methods. Initialized Capital led the funding round, emphasizing ZeroEntropy's superior retrieval models.

More than ten AI-driven companies already use the startup's tools. Houir Alami, a UC Berkeley alum, draws inspiration from her Moroccan roots and seeks to inspire more women to pursue careers in DevTools and AI infrastructure.
