Modus Raises $85M for AI Audit Platform

AI-native audit startup Modus Audit Inc. has raised $85 million to accelerate product development and expand partnerships with accounting firms. Founded in 2025 and backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Comma Capital and Garry Tan, the company combines AI technology with ownership stakes in partner firms. The Modus platform automates audit testing, transaction analysis and document processing by ingesting financial data and applying machine learning to flag anomalies and inconsistencies. The company has already invested in a top 200 accounting firm with over $30 million in revenue and expects to more than double its organic growth rate in 2026.
