Mistral Launches Vibe Coding AI Assistant - French AI startup Mistral has launched Mistral Code, a vibe coding client that competes with GitHub Copilot. It integrates Mistral's in-house models, Codestral and Devstral, to support over 80 languages for code autocomplete and agentic tasks. The tool offers local deployment and enterprise features, drawing customers like Capgemini and SNCF.
Mistral Code is based on the open-source Continue project, with plans for future improvements. Established in 2023 and supported by 1.1 billion in funding, Mistral aims to enhance coding productivity and contribute to open source.
