Microsoft Lens Discontinued for Copilot AI App - Microsoft's Lens app, a mobile document scanner, will be discontinued on iOS and Android starting September 15, 2025, with scanning available until December 15, 2025. Launched in 2015, Lens transformed paper documents into digital files without subscriptions.
Microsoft is directing users to its Copilot AI app, which lacks several Lens functionalities like direct saving to OneNote or Word and accessibility features. Despite 92.3 million downloads since 2017, Microsoft is retiring the app in favor of AI advancements.
