This decision comes as OpenAI explores its own infrastructure and new projects, including a possible LinkedIn rival. Microsoft appreciates Anthropics Claude Sonnet 4 for excelling in tasks like creating PowerPoint presentations.
While still collaborating with OpenAI, Microsoft is working toward self-sufficiency by developing its own AI models. Concurrently, OpenAI intends to produce its own AI chips, signaling a move away from Microsoft's Azure infrastructure.
