Microsoft: Copilot Is Not Just Entertainment
Microsoft is distancing itself from its own terms of use after users discovered Copilot was labeled "for entertainment purposes only." The company says the wording is outdated legacy language from Copilot's early days as a Bing-based chatbot and will be updated soon.
The contradiction proved awkward given Microsoft's aggressive push of Copilot as a productivity tool across Windows, Microsoft 365, and enterprise software. While legal disclaimers warning against over-reliance on AI are common, the entertainment label clashed sharply with Microsoft's broader ambitions for the product.
