Meta VP: 20 Months to Rebuild for AI Agents

Meta VP of Engineering Barak Yagour warned at VB Transform 2026 that enterprise infrastructure built for humans is breaking under agentic AI demands. He revealed that agentic queries on Meta's data systems grew 30x in a single half, shattering assumptions built over two decades. The shift extends beyond Meta. Automated traffic surpassed human internet traffic in 2025, reaching 51% of total traffic, and is growing eight times faster than human traffic.
