Meta Recruits Top OpenAI Researchers - Meta has secured the expertise of OpenAI researchers Jason Wei and Hyung Won Chung for its Superintelligence Lab, according to Wired. Wei and Chung, whose OpenAI Slack profiles are now deactivated, specialize in deep research models and reasoning, respectively.
Their recruitment aligns with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's aggressive strategy to advance in the AI race by attracting top talent with lucrative offers. Wei and Chung's prior collaboration at Google and OpenAI is believed to have influenced Meta's decision to hire them both.
