Meta Eyes Acquisition of Voice Cloning Startup - Meta is reportedly in talks to acquire voice cloning startup Play AI to enhance its consumer AI features. This acquisition would bring both Play AI's technology and some of its staff under Meta's wing. Known for enabling users to clone voices for AI applications, Play AI has raised $23.5 million from investors such as 500 Startups and Kindred Ventures.
Integrating voice capabilities could expand Meta's creative suite, which already includes chatbot and video editing tools. Both Meta and Play AI have declined to comment on the ongoing discussions.
