Managed services keep neocloud GPU clusters profitable
Neoclouds are expanding as AI labs and enterprises seek dedicated GPU capacity, but maintaining healthy clusters post-launch is the real challenge. Alpha Compute Corp., which entered AI infrastructure less than a year ago, partners with Dell Technologies and Intel to offer sovereign, confidential computing with managed services covering everything below the operating system. Its 72-node St. Louis cluster uses Nvidia Blackwell hardware and secured a $31.9 million nonrecourse loan facility. EVP Tom Richer says neoclouds will complement public cloud by handling the most demanding, sensitive workloads in a hybrid model.
