Comet Cloud offers SMBs cheaper GPU alternatives
Comet Cloud is targeting small and midsize businesses overlooked by hyperscalers, which now require multiyear GPU contracts that exclude smaller customers. Founded by Thomas Kato, the company offers dedicated bare metal clusters for data-sensitive clients like medical offices and law firms, pricing Nvidia B300 capacity at around $4 per hour versus hyperscaler rates of $15 to $20. As AI shifts from training to inference, Comet Cloud aims to deliver affordable tokens for everyday business tasks. The company has 300 acres under contract on the West Coast and is beginning a partnership with Dell Technologies.
