Liquid AI Secures $250M for New AI Models - Liquid AI, a Boston-based MIT spinoff, has secured $250 million in a Series A round led by AMD to advance its Liquid Foundation Models (LFMs). These models, different from traditional transformer-based AI, aim for superior performance and lower memory usage, particularly with lengthy inputs. Liquid AI's models cater to diverse deployments, including mobile and complex tasks.
The AMD partnership will boost optimization through advanced processing units. The funds will support infrastructure expansion and the creation of industry-specific LFMs for sectors like consumer electronics, biotechnology, and finance.
